Aquarium
Look at you,
You greedy things.
Round and round in rings
You swim.
Can you see me?
Observe me?
Am I amazing
From within your effervescent globe?
Does the light catch my skin
From within?
Like the shards of colour
From your fins.
You seem so busy,
In such a rush.
Perhaps the shards are really glass,
Not neon scales.
I approach
And cause
A single minded, mindless dance
For food.
You check for morsels,
And check again, and again
In fronds and rocks.
Compulsively insane.
I can see you
Observe you,
And you are amazing
Within your world
From within mine.
